This service provides a temporary/ephemeral Ubuntu desktop machine that is accessed with a standard RDP client.

Service Behavior/Rules

  • You must have funds in your account to start a machine
  • You may have 1 active machine at time
  • The machine will self delete if:
    1. You explicitly stop it
    2. Your account balance goes to 0
  • Once it's gone, it's gone forever (there is no way to recover it)
  • If you mess it up (you have root access), stop it and start another one
  • A new machine is completely firewalled, you must allow access for your public IP

Common Use Cases:

  • Throw away machine for quick usage
  • Learning Linux
  • Instead of using an untrusted computer, use a secure Coin Machine
  • Internet networking / reachability testing
  • Software development
  • Small website hosting (using tunneling technologies)
  • AI autonomous agent implementation like Open Claw
    NOTE: This is much better than a standard VPS since you have a full high performance desktop interface for direct browser control

Machine Specs

  • Ubuntu Ubuntu 24.04 Desktop (standard Gnome)
  • 4 CPUs
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 100 GB root volume
  • Public network access with RDP port accessiblity controlled by firewall rules that you control
  • Full root access

IMPORTANT: Make sure you set the color depth on your RDP client to 32bpp to acheive optimal performance

In addition these things should work well:

  • Sound redirection (output only)
  • Video playback (higher FPS performance on data center hosts)
  • Remote drive mapping through the normal RDP client mechanism

Billing

Payments accepted include credit card and crypto

Data Center Hosts

  • $0.15 USD machine start up charge
  • $0.15 USD/hour for as long as the machine runs

NON-Data Center Hosts

  • $0.10 USD machine start up charge
  • $0.10 USD/hour for as long as the machine runs

NOTE: NON-Data Center Hosts are typically on less reliable and less performant networks.
